Good morning and Happy Last Monday of 2024 friends!
WOWWWWWWW what a year this has been. Honestly, as a girl who has a blog, I have been left speechless for what the last 365 days have been like. Everything is still very much processing for me, but I think it’s easy to say that things did not go as planned. That is not a negative thing, but maybe your gentle reminder to leave room for who knows what when you’re planning your year.
Nonetheless, thank YOU for being here and spending another year with me (its almost been 4!) and watching me grow, trying to understand life through the many difficulties shown. Life is fun, but life does indeed life.
Now, let’s wrap this year up strong, and reflect on just how badass you were, okay?
Welcome to Week 3 of Mindful Mondays friends: A Year in Review 2024 version
Pause & Reflect
What was the most memorable or pivotal moment of this year? Why did it stand out? What is something you accomplished this year that you’re proud of? In what ways did you grow emotionally, mentally, or spiritually? What was the biggest challenge you faced, and how did you handle it? Who had the most positive impact on your life this year?
I had one hell of a year. I think most of us did. To fray from trauma dumping, I shall try my best to keep my answers short & simple but I will be filling up pages and pages of my journal reflecting on these and I encourage you to, too.
The most memorable/ pivotal moment for me was *drum roll please* my break up. Who would’ve guessed that? No really, while I was living it I knew that time period was going to have a huge impact on the trajectory of my life. This led me to move to LA alone and start a new life, rather spontaneously. I am extremely proud of that and how graciously I built myself a life here. The ways I’ve grown this year is vast and wide, but to put it plain, I fully have owned myself in every which way. My year was not dandy, but I am grateful for the way I was shown unconditional love and support. Namely, my sister and father have had the greatest impacts on me this year.
Name a small joy you experienced this year.
I met my friend Lauren and I know we will be friends for a long while.
My baby nephew, Teddy was born and he is perfect.
I spent a week in NJ with my entire family this summer and on the 4th of July, I watched my dad, brother, and nephews gleefully light fireworks. It was such an East Coast and core family memories moment.
REFLECTIONS & REVELATIONS
2024 was dense. Allow this to be your graveyard for what no longer serves you.
Ask yourself these questions:
What is something you’re ready to let go of from this year?
Is there a habit, belief, or relationship that no longer serves you?
What regrets (if any) do you have, and how can you offer yourself compassion around them?
Where did you feel the most resistance, and what can you learn from that?
What emotions or experiences need closure before the new year begins?
